yes, every part of my art creation is political.
just being able to continue in the tradition of craft and making. passed down through the many lifetimes that have tried to erase us is an honour. the kaba kollektiv was made of myself and my long time friend Karin Edhlund of Fortralad Leather. kaba was a combination of our names which so happened to mean rude. two rude gals making beautiful things with leather! we both have different styles and approaches to creating, karin’s work is more refined, perfect actually, where my work is a bit more organic with each bag being one of a one off.
